Lisa Dresch was presented with the prestigious South Dakota Art Educator of the Year Award for her outstanding efforts both in and outside the classroom.
Since 2010 the South Dakota Art Education Association has been recognizing outstanding educators in the field of visual arts. The award is based on involvement in local, state and national activities, artistic endeavors, arts advocacy and educational efforts. “Lisa puts her students first. She works tirelessly to advocate for her students both in and outside the classroom. She provides opportunities for growth at all levels,” stated Marica Shannon, SDAEA conference chair and Mitchell art teacher, who nominated Lisa for the award.
Formal Recognition will take place at the fall SDAEA Conference to be held at USD in Vermillion.
