Sonia’s concert delves into her experiences growing up in Mexico and her migration north. Her original songs in Spanish and English are inspired by various Latin American rhythms like son jarocho, cumbia and huapango, as well as the North American folk traditions from the United States that influence her music. Sonia tours across the country with her band and has played in renowned venues and festivals such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, The Getty Museum, Symphony Space, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and The New Victory Theater. Her second album ¡Alegría! earned her a Latin GRAMMY nomination in 2019, and she continues to write and perform songs that inspire people of all ages and backgrounds.
