Music is a language; and like other languages, one of its purposes is to communicate and express thoughts, ideas, and emotions. During this interactive concert, the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra (SJMO) will explore the various elements and language of jazz music. SJMO is an ensemble that is part of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C.
