The Board of the Edith B. Siegrist Vermillion Public library Foundation, on behalf of the Edith B. Siegrist Vermillion Public Library, in Vermillion, SD, is pleased to share this request for artwork proposals:
The Foundation is looking to purchase artwork from regional artists to complement our new library space, recently renovated and expanded. The areas for initial artwork purchase include the Children’s section, and the Circulation Desk. The request is specifically for wall-hung artwork (paintings, prints, photographs, textiles, etc.) that would fit within specific dimensions, and would complement the function of the library. The foundation is particularly interested in artwork that would fit the themes of narrative, storytelling, literature, South Dakota history and people, children’s stories, etc. Other themes may also be considered. The Foundation welcomes proposals for works from a related series.
The dimensions for artwork should fit within the following dimensions:
Circulation Desk – 3.5’h x 6.5’w; 4’h x 6.5’w; 3.5’h x 6.5’w
Children’s Area – 5’h x 6.5’w; 5.5’h x 7.5’w; 4.5’h x 6’w
The budget for this initial artwork purchase is $1000 for the Children’s Area, and $2000 for the Circulation Desk. The works of a single, or multiple, artists may be purchased.
