Luke Bryant is a ceramic artist living in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He obtained his BS degree in Studio Arts from South Dakota State University in 2017 and his MFA in Ceramics from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2019.
Bryant’s work is fundamentally ceramic at its core, embracing the natural characteristics of clay. His work addresses ideas of tactility, functional perception, surface expression, and non-hierarchy of objects.
I capture the images and designs of a diversity of subjects from my rural environment to my everyday scenes and florals. It is my desire to utilize the creative process of watercolor to express God’s gift of nature with images of designs and color.
As a self taught artist, I am always refining my artistic skill and techniques by attending workshops with a variety of nationally recognized watercolorists and prominent artists.
Being a freelance artist has provided me with the opportunity to complete countless commissioned pieces of artwork. My artwork is in many private and public collections throughout the United States.
II have exhibited in many group and solo shows throughout the Region and Midwest. I am a Signature member of the Northern Plains Watercolor Society.
I am a Sioux Falls artist currently painting abstract acrylic pieces. Recent work finds me caught up in an exploration of my unique visual experiences, striving to convey what it feels like to be trapped inside of the filter my brain is determined to use. My hope is that these pieces reach the audience with a pleasant, energetic, positive slant. I use vivid color combinations and repetitive strokes to push those feelings across the space between art and viewer. I hope for individuals to find landscapes, animals, people, or objects among the chaos of dots and fragments of color.
My process involves many layers of paint, giving these canvases an entire individual history. I am looking for them to spark wonder and curiosity, just as I marvel at the history of objects, and imagine their life’s experiences. I would like for the viewer to recognize something of themselves in each piece- a memory, a favorite color, a feeling.
MelJean is a fine artist with works ranging from delicate portraits drawn with graphite to watercolor landscapes, but the majority of her artwork lies within the colorful abstract realm. She feels most creative with acrylic paints on her brush (or hands) and a blank canvas. Emotions are her inspiration and tend to show themselves through each brush stroke, paint drop, and bold shape.
MelJean’s other interests include graphic design, photography, and multimedia artwork and she’s always looking forward to the next project to try.

I’m a wedding + lifestyle and scenic photographer
primarily serving the Sioux Falls SD area. When I am not taking pictures, you can find me in my man cave watching sports! I’m a huge sports fan and I’m currently catching up on my favorite TV shows: Billions, POWER, House Of Cards, etc. I also enjoy hanging out with my 2 beautiful kids.
I love photography because it captures a
moment in time. Whether that moment is your wedding day or an annual family
portrait, those pictures enable us to relive and
remember special occasions again + again.
My style is simple + relaxed.
I believe in natural light, unique details, raw emotions + capturing the true essence of an individual or event. My ultimate goal is to create timeless photographs for you and your loved ones to cherish forever.
“I’ve never considered myself as an artist, more of a tinkerer, working in the basement with whatever is at hand, like someone who makes birdhouses or whirligigs. My work is personal, yet, I hope, open to everyone and anyone’s interpretation. I would never want to explain a piece to anyone or wax poetic about it’s meaning. I like to put out a product and see what happens, good, bad….ugly. All in all, I’m honored to have people look at, think about my work and have in their lives.”
Jacksonville born Mike Fleming now resides in Sioux Falls, SD with his wife and three cats in an enchanted treehouse where nothing bad happens.
