I am a visual artist in Sioux Falls. I specialize in oil painting, digital painting and figure drawings. My paintings deal heavily with science fiction and fantasy themed and feature expressive markings and colors combined with naturalism
Klaire A. Lockheart is a feisty artist who uses traditional oil painting techniques to critique historical injustices in the traditional Western art world. She has lived in South Dakota since she earned her MFA from the University of South Dakota, and she is currently the Artist in Residence at the Vermillion Area Arts Council. Lockheart enjoys using the human form as a vehicle to communicate the agency of her subjects with viewers, especially since women artists were historically prohibited from studying live models and making historic paintings. In addition to addressing femininity and feminism within her artwork, Lockheart enjoys incorporating humor to make serious subjects approachable. She also enjoys celebrating the accomplishments of women, and she is the South Dakota artist for the national Her Flag collaborative artwork. Her recent solo exhibitions include Feminine Attempts at the Sioux City Art Center in Sioux City, IA; A is for Apron at the Ritz Gallery in Brookings, SD; and Ladylike Representations at Gallery 120 in Inver Grove Heights, MN.
Inspired by the simple gifts of every day life, and being a mom. I find joy painting and drawing contemporary realism Scenes and people. I am most experienced in graphite, oil, and acrylic, but love to continue to learn and explore with new mediums!
Kristin Peterson is a third generation artist, originally from South Dakota. Kristin’s creative passion is inspired and supported by her husband and kids, all who encourage, critique, and promote her work.
Kristin is always exploring and expanding the creative depths of acrylic paint. She very much enjoys vintage collage work and mixed media. Kristin loves color and things that have a love-worn comfortable feeling-like an old favorite pair of jeans-coffee stained, patched, painted and well loved. She wants her art to project feeling and make people feel good while looking at it. Her paintings contain vibrance mixed with a little funk, which is sprinkled with discreet sensibility. Her style is meant to make you ponder and smile, just as she does as she paints and creates.
My name is Kristine, I am a graphic designer as well as a painter. I have my bachelors degree in graphic design and media. I do a variety of things from creating logos to hosting rose painting classes. My motto is “Bringing your imagination to life”, because I want to help you create whatever you can think up.
Thousands of images edited and created over the years. Photo retouching, charcoal drawings, pet portraits and new to the list is creative challenges for children. I also have a virtual gallery to showcase new talent and clubs.
Always fascinated by organic shapes and bold line work, most of my pieces use animal skulls as my canvas. I enjoy the juxtaposition of beauty and death that skulls provide, taking an object generally displayed in the home as a trophy into something that becomes a celebration of life, color, and geometric form. I enjoy using bright, bold colors in my work and the repetition of strong line work in all of my pieces.
I live in Harrisburg, SD and also spend a fair amount of time in the Florida Keys. I am a surface pattern designer, illustrator, mixed media artist and jewelry designer. My work highlights the beautiful and joyous aspects of the beach environment that I love.
I primarily work with Photoshop, acrylics, inks and watercolor. I happily take commissions.
